Who we are

What we collect
Information you send us
- Your manuscript and related files. This includes drafts, supplementary material, code, and any notes you send about your analysis.
- Your contact details. Your name, email address, and anything else in your emails to us, such as your affiliation and your co-authors' names if they appear in the manuscript.
- Your authorship confirmation. We ask you to confirm you're an author of each manuscript you submit.
Please don't send us individual-level research data or anything that identifies study participants. When a review needs data, we get public or registration-based datasets ourselves, under our own access.
Information from payment
When you pay, Stripe collects your payment details, email address, and billing location. Stripe shares with us your name, email, billing location, any tax ID you enter, the amount paid, and the last four digits of your card. We use these to match your payment to your submission, calculate tax, and keep accounting records.
Information from this website
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Two services see basic technical information when you load a page:
- Our web host, [website host], records standard server logs such as your IP address and browser type.
- Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so Google receives your IP address when the fonts load.
How we use it
- To carry out the review you paid for, including revision passes.
- To communicate with you about your review.
- To process payments, issue receipts and invoices, and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- To check the quality of our own reviews. We may re-examine past reports to measure how accurate our findings are.
- To produce aggregate statistics, such as how often submitted analyses reproduce. Aggregate statistics never identify you, your co-authors, or your manuscript.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising. We don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask to join one.
How AI is involved
Our review process uses AI services from third-party providers to help build the independent implementation of your analysis and to draft findings. A person reviews every report before it's sent to you. These providers process your manuscript only to deliver that service to us, under terms that [do not allow them to use your files to train their models].

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the review, and only what each one needs:

Independent statisticians who audit samples of our reviews for accuracy work under written confidentiality agreements and see only what they need to check our work.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute. If the business is sold or reorganized, this policy will continue to apply to information collected under it.

Where your information is processed
We're based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses or other legal safeguards for these transfers.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy
- Correct information that's wrong
- Delete your information, apart from records we must keep by law
- Stop using your information for quality checks or aggregate statistics

Security
We keep your files in access-controlled storage, limit access to the people doing your review, and delete files on the schedule above. No system is perfectly secure, so if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you promptly.
Children
This service is for researchers and isn't directed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use manuscripts you've already sent, we'll email you before it takes effect.
